Before Susan Boyle busted into her version of “I Dreamed a Dream,” when the “Britain’s Got Talent” crowd was still laughing at her, she confessed that she wanted to be a singer in the mold of Elaine Page, a famous British theater actress and chanteuse. We all know what happened next: Boyle blew everyone away and became an overnight, worldwide sensation.
But what most Americans didn’t know is who the heck this Elaine Page woman is. Apparently, she’s beloved in Britain. And, according to People magazine, Page wrote in her blog that she’d love to sing a duet with Boyle. That’s sweet and all, but if Boyle is going to make it as a recording artist in the States, she’s going to have to pick a much more well-known duet partner. We at MTV News really want Boyle to make it, so here’s our suggestion of eight artists Boyle would be wise to start crooning with.
Katy Perry: By her own admission, Boyle has never been smooched. Who better to duet with than the woman behind the international hit “I Kissed a Girl”? Hey, maybe she’d even like it.
Celine Dion: On “Larry King Live,” the newly famous Boyle belted out a goose bump-inducing version of Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On.” Dion, meanwhile, has a strong history of duet success, including a chart-topper with R. Kelly, “I’m Your Angel.” A Boyle/Dion collaboration screams — no, beautifully harmonizes — a Billboard hit.

At the risk of alienating everyone on the planet, I am going to raise my voice against the Susan Boyle phenomenon.
Not against the dear woman herself, but against the manipulative media that shot her to stardom. And the millions of crazed people who now see her as the Second Coming.
I have worked in the news and entertainment sectors long enough to know how a person, or a story, can be transported, transfigured, transformed. I've seen the sleazy hypocrisy and sly maneuvering that pulls the strings behind the scenes: a wink, a sigh, a pregnant pause is often all it takes to shift reality.
The three judges on Britain's Got Talent are good at that. Their facial mugging and body language set the tone for the audience and the contestant. Of course, they know in advance who will appear on stage, because there is a pre-selection process, and rehearsals. They know they are going to have a jerk, or a pro, or a buffoon, or a sex-pot -- usually chosen in perfect balance for each show.

A star is born. Susan Boyle: a tonic for the nation. Dreams can come true. She has the talent to conquer the world. Simple Susie Superstar. Every time I read a headline lauding Susan Boyle's extraordinary and unlikely gift of a voice, I feel more and more uncomfortable.
I am as much to blame for my sense of unease as the next person. Last week, I rode the crest of the wave with everybody else. I had Boyle's YouTube clip permanently on my screen. I discussed her at length with my friends and colleagues. It was thrilling to see somebody for whom life has dealt so many blows experience a moment of sheer triumph. Her voice was powerful, her song choice poignant, her pride moving.
Britain's Got Talent finds an unlikely superstarFor once the phrase "overnight sensation" was not just hyperbole. Her performance has grabbed the attention of 100 million YouTube viewers (which, by the way, is 80 million more than Obama's inauguration speech has attracted). Demi Moore was so moved by the voice of the "hairy angel" that she wept. Simon Cowell wants to sign her to his label. She made the front page of The Washington Post. Oprah invited Boyle on to her show. Jay Leno dressed up as her on Saturday Night Live. Piers Morgan asked her out to dinner. Elaine Paige suggested recording a duet with her. The consensus was that the competition is Boyle's.

Christopher Biggins Begs Susan Not To Change Her Appearance!
Christopher Biggins has begged Britain's Got Talent hopeful Susan Boyle not to change her appearance. - The Press Association.
The star is a big fan of the Scottish singing sensation - who wowed the judges and the public with her rendition of I Dreamed A Dream - and urged: "Please, please don't change the way you look!"
The bubbly panto star went on: "Just stay exactly as you are because that's what we love about you - and that fantastic voice, it's wonderful!"
Biggins, who won I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2007, thinks the singer's transatlantic fame is "marvellous".
"I love Susan," he said. "She's got an extraordinary talent. It's amazing that suddenly at the age of 48, she has reached this international stardom."
But it wasn't just Susan that caught the 60-year-old's eye on the TV talent show.
He also backed saxophonist Julian Smith, who impressed the judges with a rendition of Somewhere from West Side Story. Biggins raved: "I thought he was absolutely fantastic and very moving - an inspiration to all people who want to make music their career. He's a marvellous, handsome man, father of two children, with a gorgeous wife. I think it's wonderful he's reaching his ambition."

Susan Boyle has admitted that topping the singles charts would fulfil all her dreams.
The 47-year-old Scot, whose Britain's Got Talent performance of 'I Dreamed A Dream' has been watched by over 100 million people on YouTube, claimed it was now her ambition to reach number one.
"It would be a dream come true. It would be fantastic," she told Heat.
Despite gaining a host of celebrity fans and appearing on US television, Boyle remained adamant that she would stay true to her roots.
"I'm nobody special," she said. "I'd just get on with the act and wouldn't make any demands on people.
The star later admitted that fans would have to wait to see what she would perform on the Britain's Got Talent live shows.

Susan Boyle insisted she wouldn't change after she shot to worldwide stardom following her appearance on Britain's Got Talent.
But as she stepped out yesterday it appeared she had been on a shopping trip.
The Scottish singer had swapped her matronly look for a new, patterned dress and PVC jacket, along with a pair of high heels.

But despite her new clothes she was still the same-old Susan who has won fans with her down-to-earth persona - giving photographers an enthusiastic thumbs up.
A video of Susan's audition for Britain's Got Talent looks set to become the most viewed YouTube clip ever.
Less than two weeks after it was uploaded to the site Susan's audition has been watched more than 100million times - making it set to smash the previous record.
And it has been watched five times more than US President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in January, which has had 18.5million views.

The current most watched clip on YouTube is comedian Judson Laipply's Evolution Of Dance, which has been viewed 118 million times since it was uploaded in April 2006.
US-based firm Visible Measures tracked 200 videos from top sharing sites and worked out that all clips related to Susan have generated 85.2million views in one week.
The clips include her television interviews and a newly-released recording of her singing Cry Me A River. The track, unearthed by the Daily Record, was recorded in 1999 for a millennium charity compilation CD.

She said she had been for a meeting with music label Sony BMG but added: 'I can't comment on that at the moment.' Boyle said she would be very humbled to perform in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance. She said: 'It’s my ambition to sing in front of the Queen. She's a very beautiful lady. 'But I’m doing all this as a tribute to my Mum. If she could see me now, she’d be very proud.'

Susan Boyle - Britain's Hidden Talent
Were you surprised like we were, when Susan began to sing? Wow! I couldn't believe it. I was in the audience when she came onto the stage, and I immediately "judged" her, just like everyone else; but when she began to sing!
Well I'm a fan and I want to see Susan go further. I'll be bringing you more videos and news as it happens.
